Section 1

Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using FieldMedic ("the App") or accessing fieldmedic.app ("the Website"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms in their entirety, you must not install or use the App.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and the developer of FieldMedic. Your continued use of the App following any update to these Terms constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Section 2

Eligibility — Who May Use FieldMedic

FieldMedic is intended exclusively for use by:

By using the App you confirm that you fall within one of the above categories, that you have the training and competence to apply clinical information appropriately, and that you understand the limitations of a reference tool in a clinical setting.

FieldMedic is not intended for use by members of the public, lay first aiders without medical training, or any person who is not a trained medical professional. If you do not have appropriate medical training, do not use this app for clinical decisions. In an emergency, call your local emergency services.
Section 3

Nature of the App

FieldMedic is a clinical reference tool. It provides structured access to clinical information compiled from published, peer-reviewed guidelines for use by trained medical professionals in remote environments.

FieldMedic is not:

The symptom checker feature provides pattern-matching outputs described as "likely cause" or "possible cause" based on user-entered information. These outputs are not diagnoses. They are reference suggestions to assist a trained clinician's own assessment. They must not be treated as or substituted for a clinical diagnosis.

The App provides reference information including possible causes of symptoms, reference doses for medications, and management protocols compiled from published clinical sources. All information must be independently verified before use in any clinical context.

Section 4

No Doctor-Patient Relationship

Use of the App does not create any doctor-patient, healthcare provider-patient, or advisory relationship between you, the developer, or any party associated with the App. The App does not provide medical advice in the legal or clinical sense of that term.

Section 5

User Responsibilities

By using the App you agree that you will:

If you enable the optional FieldMedic Beacon cloud features, you additionally agree that you will:

In any emergency where professional medical help is available, contact your local emergency services immediately. Do not use this App as a substitute for calling for help.
Section 6

Clinical Content — Accuracy and Currency

Clinical content in FieldMedic has been developed in good faith against authoritative published guidelines including the BNF, NICE, JRCALC, WMS, WHO, RCUK, ATLS, and MHRA guidance. A full source reference list is available at fieldmedic.app/clinical-standards.

Despite systematic review and ongoing audit, the developer makes no warranty that clinical content is accurate, complete, current, or appropriate for any specific clinical situation. Medical knowledge evolves continuously. Guidance that was accurate at the time of publication may become outdated. New contraindications, drug safety alerts, or revised protocols may not yet be reflected in the App.

The presence of a condition, drug, or protocol in the App does not constitute a recommendation that any specific clinician should perform any specific intervention. The App's scope is adults in expedition settings; content may not be appropriate for paediatric patients, patients with complex comorbidities, or other populations.

Section 7

Disclaimer of Warranties

The App and all content within it are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to:

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the developer expressly disclaims all warranties, express or implied, with respect to the App and its content.

Section 8

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall the developer be liable for any:

This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory under which any claim is brought — whether in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise — and even if the developer has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for:
  • Death or personal injury caused by the developer's negligence
  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation by the developer
  • Any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the laws of England and Wales
Section 9

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the developer and any associated parties from and against any claim, liability, loss, damage, cost, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

Section 10

Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, and clinical compilations within the App and Website are the property of the developer or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not:

Clinical guidelines referenced in the App remain the intellectual property of their respective publishing bodies. FieldMedic's use of those guidelines as source references does not constitute endorsement by those bodies.

Section 11

In-App Purchases and Subscriptions

FieldMedic Pro is available as a one-time in-app purchase processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. The developer does not receive, store, or process any payment or financial information. All purchase-related queries should be directed to Apple.

FieldMedic Beacon is an optional auto-renewable subscription (monthly or annual, with a free trial where offered) that unlocks the cloud features described at fieldmedic.app/beacon. It requires FieldMedic Pro. Payment is charged to your Apple ID on confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your device's subscription settings. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription. Prices may change for future renewal periods; Apple will notify you and, where required, seek your consent before any increase applies.

If your Beacon subscription lapses, cloud syncing pauses but all your data remains on your device; encrypted cloud copies are retained so you can resume by resubscribing, or you may request their deletion (see the Privacy Policy). Refunds for subscriptions are handled by Apple under App Store terms.

Purchase entitlement is verified through RevenueCat. No personally identifiable information is shared with RevenueCat in connection with purchase verification. See the Privacy Policy for full details.

Section 12

Privacy

By default, FieldMedic does not collect, transmit, or share personal data — all data entered into the App is stored locally on your device. If you enable the optional FieldMedic Beacon cloud features, your records are transmitted and stored end-to-end encrypted, such that neither the developer nor its hosting provider can read them. Full details, including your and the developer's roles under UK GDPR, are set out in the Privacy Policy.

Section 13

Termination

The developer may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without notice, for any reason including breach of these Terms. Upon termination you must cease all use of the App. Sections 7, 8, 9, 10, and 14 survive termination.

Section 14

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising from or in connection with these Terms or your use of the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction provide otherwise.

Section 15

Changes to These Terms

The developer may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in the App, applicable law, or operational practice. The date of the most recent update is shown at the top of this page. Where changes are material, reasonable notice will be given. Continued use of the App after updated Terms are published constitutes acceptance of those Terms.
